    On this page, you'll find a list of upcoming events that are of interest to all of CAL-ED's membership.   The Web Administrator is currently looking forward to receiving any info about events that might be of interest to CAL-ED members!  They will be posted here once the Web Administrator knows about them!  In the meantime... please check out the "OhSoEZ" link ("Deaf Events") on the "Interesting LInks" page of this Web site (at the bottom of the home page) for a more detailed listing of events in California!

KODAWest
2nd Annual KODA Camp

Near Big Bear Lake, CA

Camp Whittle
June 29th- July 5th, 2008

Hearing kids of
Deaf adults (KODAs) of ages 8 thru 16 will enjoy an amazing experience,
exploring their identity as bicultural individuals through increased awareness of ASL,
Deaf culture, hearing culture and by sharing their own stories.

KODAs will spend seven days and six nights at Camp whittle, located in the
San Bernardino Mountains near Big Bear Lake, CA.
Activities will be included archery, nature, arts and crafts, horseback riding,
swimming, kayaking, rope courses and leadership/team building skills.


Camp Director, Molly Bowen, a CODA from Northern California, currently works as
the program manager/Assistant Camp Director with Camp Grizzly Youth Leadership
for Deaf, Hard of hearing and KODA children under NORCAL Center on Deafness.
She has been involved with Camp Grizzly since its inception in 1999.
She will lead an experienced team of counselors in providing fun activities that help
campers understand their unique heritage. KODA Campers will have a great time,
and leave with a deep appreciation of their group identity as KODAs.

Hi-DAD (High Desert Association of the Deaf), an organization located in the High Desert area of San Bernardino, CA, has lots of activities planned for the upcoming year.  They're a very active group and offer a variety of activities and events, including, pizza nights, Starbucks nights, and a field trip to Stateline Nevada.

For those interested in EIPA testing at the National Center on Deafness (NCOD) on the campus of CSUN,

the fees to take the EIPA are as follows:  $250.00 (checks made payable to Boys Town Research Hospital) and an additional $50.00 administration fee to be made payable to the tester.
