By the way, if you'd like to see more information about this S.I.G. Mission of CAL-ED's Infant Special Interest Group

The Infant SIG group's mission is to spread information and share ideas concerning the education of California's Deaf and Hard of Hearing infants/toddlers and their families.  With the new legislation for Newborn Hearing Screening recently taking effect, we are assured to find ourselves with many many more infants with hearing loss in our classrooms and districts.  How can we use our knowledge of Deaf Education and apply it to a relatively new concept: the ability to influence the language and education of Deaf and Hard of Hearing infants and their families from day one--we can change the rather bleak statistics concerning the reading and language levels of our children by what we do in these crucial first three years.
